Wireless Site Acquisition for Clearwire
Clearwire Corporation, in conjunction with Sprint, is building out a 4G WiMax network that will provide cellular wireless internet services. In order to provide this service, Clearwire requires over 200 antenna locations in the Northwest Region of Metropolitan Detroit.
NSI has provided services to identify and secure the necessary site leases for Clearwire. This assignment included ground work combing the area within each search ring issued by Clearwire to identify one or more likely candidates, interfacing with Clearwire's engineering department to ensure that the identified structures worked within design requirements and contacting site owners to open negotiations. NSI also worked with zoning administrators for local jurisdictions to streamline the zoning process and identify regions where wireless facilities could be installed within the Township Zoning Plan. Once suitable primary candidates had been identified, NSI negotiated leases on behalf of Clearwire and prepared all necessary leasing packages pursuant to Clearwire guidelines.
Once complete, Clearwire and Sprint will be able to offer 4G connectivity over wireless devices to subscribers within the Detroit-Metro area.
